Jacqueline R. Hairston
Director of Bands
Music is more than a job or a hobby for me, it is who I am. The opportunity to teach and inspire others to enjoy music is a great privilege.
Ms. Hairston received her B.A. in Music at California State University, East Bay with a focus in music education and clarinet performance (2009). Ms. Hairston later returned to California State University, East Bay to receive her teaching credential (2011). Ms. Hairston began teaching at Franklin High School during the 2016-2017 school year. Previously, she was the music teacher at Pittman, Wilson, and Elmwood Elementary schools in Stockton, CA.
At Franklin High School, Ms. Hairston is the Director of Bands where she teaches, directs, and oversees: guitar, Beginning Band, Concert Band, Winterguard, Drumline, and the Marching Yellowjackets.
When Ms. Hairston am not teaching at Franklin High School, she is either teaching private clarinet lessons or performing with a children's theater company in Fremont, CA. Ms. Hairston also enjoys powerlifting and spending time with her husband and two dogs.
